Summer Concerts in the Park


The sound of music will be streaming from Alpena's Bay View Park Band shell this summer! The concerts include all genres of music. Don't forget to bring your lounge chair & picnic basket. All concerts are free of charge. All concerts start at 6:00p.m.

Saturday, August 2nd - Ten Hand Tall makes their first appearance in Alpena.  This band has been turning heads in nightclubs and stages across Michigan and Ohio.  They feature new modern and classic country music.  They recently opened for the Chris Daughtry Band.  Check ‘em out and you will soon be a fan. 

Saturday, August 9 - K and His Comets.  Joey Kay was the youngest drummer Bill Haley ever hired. He joined  “Bill Haley & The Comets” in 1968. Joey Kay is reported to be one of the greatest drummers of all time he has been drumming for over sixty years!  Joey continues to tour the world to ensure the music, as it was will continue into the future for many generations to enjoy.

Saturday, August 23rd - Magic Bus.  This band re-creates the music of the Woodstock era of psychedelic rock and roll.  Their incredible music abilities and authentic look will transcend the modern and transport you back in time.

Dial-A-Ride is now available for rides to and from the concerts. The cost is $1.50 for city residents or $3 for township residents. Please call 989-354-2487 by 4p.m. on the Thursday before to reserve a ride.
