Special Events
It seems as though something special is always going on in Alpena. Festivals and events that celebrate Independence Day, antique steam engines, classic cars, lighthouses, Santa Claus, the Thunder Bay River, and a fish called “Big Brownie” are just a smattering of the special events that take place in Alpena year ‘round. Great performances at the Alpena Fine Arts Shell, Alpena High School Auditorium, the Alpena County Library and Alpena Community College’s Granum Theatre are scheduled throughout the year.

A unique gallery experience. The largest regional fine arts gallery, featuring over 30 juried artists. Come view our selection of affordable fine art and unique gifts in all price ranges. Will be open until 9pm on Fridays in the month of July ONLY.
6PM to 7PM
Energizing, heart pumping cardio workout to music. No tennis experience necessary. Racquets & balls provided. Come join the fun on the shores of Thunder Bay. Try something new & meet friendly new people. $5 per workout.
