Whether you are a confirmed beer lover or would just like to try something new, an enjoyable time is always on tap at Fletcher Street Brewing Company’s Tasting Bar in Alpena. Seven different brews are available for sampling, including the company’s famous “Paper Maker Pilsner” and “Lumber Lager Red.” Five different sodas may also be sampled including “RipSaw Root Beer.” All three of these “flagship” brews are available to purchase and take home. The Fletcher Street Brewing Company is part of a major redevelopment of the former Fletcher Paper Mill, which includes the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center. Hours are 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Brewery tours  are available for groups.

Taste and purchase locally-made wine at Stoney Acres Winery in Alpena. Stoney Acres makes several different kinds of grape and fruit wines including Silver City White (Reisling), Silver City Red (Merlot), and more than a half-dozen fruit wines including several berry varieties and cherry, pear and apple. Stoney Acres carries a full line of beer and wine-making supplies and is open Tuesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Sunday noon until 5:00 p.m. Closed Mondays.  For more information, call (989) 356-1041.
