Elowski Grist Mill
This state-registered historic grist mill was built in the 1870's by
Michael Elowsky and Joseph Miller. The mill, together with a saw mill,
shingle mill, and log dam on the Thunder Bay River, provided a community
center for commerce for the early nearby communities. Take a tour and
learn about the early milling process, see all of the original
equipment, and walk nature trails along the river and mill pond. A gift
shop offers refreshments and souvenirs as well as a variety of crafts
and collectibles. Tours are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. May 1 to October 31 and other times by
appointment. Tours take approximately 45 minutes. Admission is $4.00
adults, children under 12 free.
